The Chairperson of the Committee on European Affairs and Oversight of the European Funds of the National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria – Mr. Svetlen Tanchev, participated in the COSAC Chairpersons meeting (4-6 February 2010), organized by the Spanish Presidency of the EU and hosted by the Spanish Parliament (Las Cortes Generales). The conference was attended by prominent guests such as the Spanish Minister of Finance - Mr. Carlos Tudela and the Minister of Foreign Affairs - Mr. Miguel Àngel Morations.

During the COSAC meeting important issues such as the global economic and financial crisis, the priorities of the Spanish Presidency of the EU, the more active participation of the national parliaments in the decision-making process of the EU within the framework of the Lisbon Treaty, were discussed.

The next COSAC meeting will take place in the period May 30 - June 1st 2010 in Madrid, Spain.
