Between 2nd and 4th of October 2011 in Warsaw, Poland will be held the 46th plenary meeting of Conference of parliamentary committees for union affairs of parliaments of the EU and candidate countries (COSAC). The Conference is part of the parliamentary initiatives of the Polish Presidency of the Council of the EU and aims discussion and coordination of the European policies within the national parliaments of the Member States.
The main topics of the Conference will be the Multiannual Financial Framework of the EU for the years 2014-2020 refracted through the prism of the EU Budget and Cohesion Policy, as well as the conclusions and good practices of the national parliaments, two years after entry into force of the Lisbon Treaty.
Key participants in the Conference will be Commissioners Janusz Lewandowski, responsible for Budget and Financial programming and Maroš Šefčovič, responsible for the Inter-Institutional relations and national parliaments. In the Conference will also take part the polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk and Elżbieta Bieńkowska, Minister of the Regional development of Poland.
The delegation of the Bulgarian parliament includes Monika Panayotova, Chairperson of the Committee on European Affairs and Oversight of the European Funds (CEAOEF), Dzhevdet Chakarov, Deputy Chairperson of the CEAOEF and Assen Agov, Kalina Krumova, Plamen Oresharski and Svetlen Tanchev, members of the same Committee.
