The 47th Plenary Meeting of the Conference of Parliamentary Committees for Union Affairs of Parliaments of the European Union will take place between 22 and 24 of April 2012 in Copenhagen, Denmark. The meeting is part of the parliamentary initiatives of the Dutch EU Presidency and aims at discussing and co-ordinating the Euoropean politics between the parliaments of the Member-States.
The forthcoming conference will focus on the impact assessment of the creation of the Single Market 20 years ago and the main topics of discussion will include: the free movement of people, goods and services within the Union; the smart, sustainable and inclusive growth in Europe and the implementation of the Europe 2020 Strategy; the Single Market for Services and the full implementation of the Service Directive by the Member-States; sustainable growth promoting the transition to a resource efficient economy in Europe, and the Digital Single Market.
The Conference and the ensuing debates will be attended by the President of the European Commission Jose Manuel Barroso, Denmark’s Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt and the Commissioners Michel Barnier, Janez Potocnik and Neelie Kroes.
The Bulgarian National Assembly delegation includes Ms. Monika Panayotova, Chairwoman of the Committee on European Affairs and Oversight of the European Funds, Mr. Vladimir Toshev, Mr. Dzhevdet Chakarov and Mrs. Meglena Plugtshieva – Deputy Chairpersons of CEAOEF, and the Committee members Svetlen Tanchev and Silviya Hubenova.
