The first sitting of the Committee on European Affairs and Oversight of the European Funds (CEAOEF)

On May 17, 2017, the first sitting of the Committee on European Affairs and Oversight of the European Funds (CEAOEF) took place.
The agenda of the meeting consisted of two items - the adoption of the Internal Rules and Regulations of CEAOEF and a presentation introducing the Parliamentary dimension of the Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
During the first half of the meeting, proposals submitted by the MPs were voted separately and the final version of the Internal Rules and Regulations was adopted by consensus. As a second item followed the presentation of Dr Mladen Lambeff, Coordinator for the Parliamentary dimension of the Presidency of the Council of the European Union. He introduced the audience to the important role of the Parliamentary dimension in conducting a successful Presidency and also reported on the National Assembly’s accomplished work to date in that relation. Dr Lambeff spoke passionately about what has been achieved so far, but he also didn’t miss to highlight what still has to be finalized. The MPs showed keen interest in both topics and were particularly interested in the Secretariat for the Parliamentary dimension of the Presidency of the Council of the EU’s work, which is led by Dr Lambeff.
