16/01/2003
The EU Enlargement, including the successful continuation of the accession negotiations with a view to the objective of Bulgaria and Rumania joining the EU in 2007, will be a basic priority for the Greek Presidency of the European Union. It was said yesterday by Mr. Dinos Vrettos, Third Vice-President of the Hellenic Parliament and Chairman of the European Affairs Parliamentary Committee, before the members of the Bulgarian European Integration Committee.
The Greek Presidency priorities include issues as migration and illegal immigration, Mr. Vrettos pointed out. The development of the regional Balkan cooperation was among the items discussed at the meeting.
The Greek MPs shared their experience of the negotiation process and obstacles they had met.
