Parliament adopted amendments to the Ownership Act

On its plenary sitting on 8 December 2006, the National Assembly adopted at first reading amendments to the Ownership Act. The amendments provide for aliens to acquire the right of ownership over land under the conditions stemming from Bulgaria's accession to the EU.
The MPs also adopted an amendment to the Rules of Organisation and Procedure of the National Assembly, envisaging the election of eighteen Bulgarian Members of the European Parliament.
Parliament voted unanimously a Declaration in Support of the Council of Europe Campaign "Parliaments united in combating domestic violence against women" 2006-2008.
The National Assembly also adopted texts of the State Social Security Budget for 2007 Bill.
