Parliament granted permission to send a Bulgarian military contingent to continue participating in the humanitarian mission at Ashraf camp in Iraq

At its plenary sitting on 21 February 2007, the National Assembly adopted a resolution on granting permission to send a Bulgarian military contingent to continue participating in the humanitarian mission providing the security at Ashraf camp in Iraq. The vote was 146 in favour, 17 against and 1 abstention.
With 145 votes in favour, 18 votes against and 1 abstained, Parliament ratified the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Government of the United States of America on the continuation of the participation of a Bulgarian military contingent in the humanitarian mission providing the security at Ashraf camp in Iraq.
The National Assembly adopted a declaration in connection with the marking of the International Polar Year. The document was submitted by Solomon Passy, Anelia Mingova and Mihail Mikov MPs.
