On 6 March 2007, National Assembly Chairman Georgi Pirinski received Alexey Kudriavtsev, Secretary General of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC).

The preparation for the 29th General Assembly of PABSEC, which is to take place in Varna, in June 2007, was discussed at the meeting between Pirinski and Kudriavtsev. The deepening of the relations between the Black Sea Economic Cooperation and the European Union, as well as the interaction between the PABSEC and the European Parliament, are expected to be the highlights of the Assembly.

Bulgaria is the country presiding the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation in the first half of 2007.
