On 8 March 2007, the National Assembly voted unanimously a declaration on the occasion of the International Women's Day. The document was submitted by MPs Anelia Atanasova, Tatiana Kalkanova and Darinka Stantcheva MPs of the National Movement Simeon II Parliamentary Group, Anastasia Moser of the Bulgarian People's Union Parliamentary Group, Iva Stankova and Evguenia Jivkova of the Coalition for Bulgaria Parliamentary Group and Nigyar Dzhafer of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms Parliamentary Group and was supported by 135 MPs.

The declaration says that the Bulgarian parliament supports and hails the European Parliament's initiatives marking the the International Women's Day - the 8th of March.
