20 March 2007
Days of Bulgaria will take place in the German Federal State of Baden-Wuertemberg at the end of June this year. This emerged on the second day of the two-day visit of the Bulgarian parliamentary delegation, led by National Assembly Chairman Georgi Pirinski, to the German Federal States of Rhineland- Pfalz and Baden-Wuertemberg.
The initiative for the Bulgaria Days came from Baden-Wuerttemberg Minister of Economy Ernst Pfister and Landtag President Peter Straub.
Before the Bulgarian parliamentarians, Peter Straub expressed his expectations that such initiative would give new practical opportunities for partnership between Bulgaria and Baden-Wuerttemberg, which is one of the most dynamically developing German federal states.
In Stuttgart, the Bulgarian delegation was received by Baden-Wuerttemberg Landtag President Peter Straub, at whose invitation the visit is paid. The Bulgarian parliamentarians conferred with the Minister of the State Ministry and for European Affairs Willi Staechele, and were received by the Mayor of Stuttgart Dr. Wolfgang Schuster.
The cooperation in the Danube region and the partnership between regions were the highlights of the meeting of the Bulgarian delegation with MPs of all parliamentary factions of Baden-Wuertemberg Landtag.
A list with twelve Bulgarian municipalities, which present their projects and look for cooperation with German municipalities was presented to the German hosts by Mrs. Ginka Chavdarova, Executive Director of the National Association of Municipalities in the Republic of Bulgaria.
