The development of relations between Bulgaria and Germany and challenges facing the EU were discussed by Georgi Pirinski and Norbert Lammert

Challenges facing the European Union and the development of relations between Bulgaria and Germany were discussed during the meeting between National Assembly Chairman Georgi Pirinski and President of the German Bundestag Dr. Norbert Lammert.
Dr. Lammert is paying an official visit to Bulgaria from 28 to 30 October 2007 at the invitation of his Bulgarian counterpart.
The parliamentary cooperation and regional issues affecting further relations between the EU countries and Western Balkan countries were also among the subjects under discussion during the meeting between Pirinski and Lammert.
After the meeting the two made statements for the media.
Earlier in the day, German Bundestag President laid a wreath at the Unknown Soldier Monument.
Dr. Lammert also met the leaderships of the European Affairs and Foreign Affairs Committees at the Bulgarian Parliament.
The official part of German Bundestag President 's visit to Bulgaria ended with his participation in a discussion entitled "Reforming the EU and the 'Democratic Deficit'". Attending the forum were political scientists, sociologists, politicians and journalists.
