The Chairman of the Bulgarian National Assembly and Lubisha Georgievski met today March 10, 2008 in the capital of Macedonia, where a Bulgarian parliamentary delegation is on official visit, March 9-11, 2008. The delegation consists of the following MPs: Angel Naidenov,(PG Coalition for Bulgaria), Chairman of the Defence Committee, the Deputy Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee, Plamen Ranchev (PG Coalition for Bulgaria) and Yordan Mirchev, Chairman, Committee on Transport and Communications (PG national Movement Simeon II).
In his statement for the Press, Georgi Pirinski stressed that for a very long time Bulgaria supports with conviction and commitment the pursuit of Macedonia to become a full member and participant of the European Union and NATO. We strive as much as we can to contribute to the necessary reforms in Macedonia, so that the country can meet the criteria for membership. The issues in dispute between Macedonia and Greece should find their solution as soon as possible so that support of all member countries of the Union will be reached.
The good neighbor relations are one of the required conditions for accession. We hope that all countries have their serious intentions to reach these standards, said the Bulgarian Chairman.
Georgi Pirinski inscribed his signature in the book of the Macedonian Parliament.
The central event of the visit will be the National Assembly Chairman, Georgi Pirinski's Address to the National Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia on March 11, 2008.
