National Assembly Chairman Georgi Pirinski pays an Official visit to the Kingdom of Denmark

National Assembly Chairman Georgi Pirinski is visiting the Kingdom of Denmark at the official invitation of the Danish Parliament’s Chairman Thor Pedersen. Georgi Pirinski is accompanied by the President of the Bulgaria – Denmark Friendship Group, Nesrin Uzun (PG Movements for Rights and Freedoms) and MPs Atanaska Teneva (PG Coalition for Bulgaria) and Maria Koleva (PG National Movement Simeon II).
The official meeting between Chairman Pirinski and the Speaker of the Danish Folketinget Thor Pedersen took place on 25 March 2008 in the Christiansborg Palace. The meeting was attended by the Folketinget Deputy Speaker Svend Auken (Social Democrates), Soren Espersen (Danish People’s Party), Holger Nielsen (Socialist People’s Party) and Helge Adam Moller (Conservative People’s Party).
The leader of the Bulgarian parliament and the delegation will be officialy greeted in the Folketinget Plenary hall.
On this ceremony Georgi Pirinski is to hand honorary diplomas and plaquettes to the former speaker of the Danish parliament Kristian Meidal and to the main political groups spokesmen of Denmark for their personal contributions for the accession of Bulgaria to the European Union.
On 26 March 2008 the National Assembly Chairman will have an audience with Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II in the Amalienborg Palace.
The programme of the official visit foresees meetings with members of the Foreign Affairs Committee, with the Ombudsman Hans Gammeltoft- Hansen.
The Bulgarian parliamentary members will confer with the Danish Minister of Education and Minister for Nordic cooperation Bertel Haarder.
National Assembly Chairman and the delegation are scheduled to visit the European Information center and the University of South Denmark “Hans Christian Andersen” in Odense.
