Prague, 22-24 May 2008

National Assembly Chairman is paying an official visit to the Chech Republic on 22-24 May 2008. The visit is at the invitation of the Czech Senate’s Chairperson M.Sobotka. Georgi Pirinski is accompanied by MPs Plamen Slavov (PG Coalition for Bulgaria), Yordan Petkov (PG Coalition for Bulgaria) and Andrey Batashov (PG NMSS).

Today in the Czech Senate, Chairman Pirinski was received by the Senate’s Chairperson M. Sobotka .

He also met with Miloslav Vlcek , Chairperson of the Chamber of Deputies and the President of the Czech Republic Vaclav Klaus.

The Bulgarian delegation had meetings with the Foreign Affairs and Defence Committee members, as well as with the European Affairs Committee members of the Senate.
The delegation confered with the city of Prague Mayor, Dr Pavel Bem.

The Bulgarian members of parliament visited the Bulgarian high school in Prague „P.Beron“ and attended the concert on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of its foundation.

On May 24th 2008 the Bulgarian delegation will take part in the ceremony marking the Day of Slavonic alphabet and culture at the monument in Mikulchice. The Bulgarian National Assembly Chairman will deliver a greeting address to the guests and representatives of the bulgarian diaspora and lay a wreath at the plaque commemorating St. Methodius.
