In a Letter to Chairman Pirinski President of European Commission Declares Support for Successful Closure of Reforms’ Process in Bulgaria and Congratulates National Assembly on Occasion of Treaty of Lisbon’s Ratification

In reply to the congratulations letter sent to him on the occasion of his awarding with the highest order of Bulgaria “Stara Planina, Jose Manuel Durao Barroso, President of the European Commission, greeted the Assembly with the Treaty of Lisbon’s ratification.
In his letter to Georgi Pirinski. Mr. Barroso notes that the Bulgarian Parliament was one of the first in the EU to ratify the Treaty on March 21st, 2008.
“For me this is a convincing expression of Bulgaria’s willingness to contribute to a more democratic, more responsible and efficient European Union, where strong institutions serving its citizens are the synonym of democracy”, notes Jose Barroso.
‘I am confident that the accession of the Republic of Bulgaria to the European Union is a success for the country itself as well as for the other member countries” continues the letter. The letter notes that the joining also makes Bulgaria a member of a family with common values, values shared by Bulgaria culturally, historically and politically.
In his letter Jose Manuel Durao Barroso expresses the full support of the European Commission for the successful ending of the reforms in Bulgaria.
