The Social Policy Week event took place in Sofia on 27 June 2008. The declaration adopted by the assembly on its sitting on June 27th 2008 was submitted by Donka Mihailova and a group of MPs. The week was held with the organizational and financial assistance of the European Social Fund of the European Commission. With the Declaration MPs express their support for further legislative and other measures to improve the social conditions faced by some Bulgarian and European citizens. In the Declaration members of parliament recommend to their Bulgarian colleagues in the European parliament to defend the main decisions and conclusions reached during the event, namely to further develop social policies aiming at better social protection, against antidiscrimination, equal opportunities, safe and healthy working conditions, more job opportunities.
