National Assembly Chairman Georgi Pirinski voiced at the express meeting held on July 3rd 2008, the readiness of his institution to help, where possible, in alleviating the consequences inflicted by the blasts in the Chelopechene district. “The National Assembly is following closely the developments of the today’s accident” he added.
The Minister of the Emergencies Emel Etem and the Minister of Defense Nikolay Tzonev briefed members of parliament on the event’s current situation.
On a joint meeting the parliamentary committees on Policy on Natural Disasters and Accidents and on Defense will discuss with the ministers in charge the measures and activities that should be undertaken to cope with the disaster.
