Four Policemen Awarded for High Professionalism and Moral Conduct by the Internal Security and Public Order Committee and the Ministry of Interior

Four policemen were awarded in parliament for high professionalism and moral conduct by the Internal Security and Public Order Committee and the Ministry of Interior on 4 July 2008. The awards were given to Todor Kimov chief policeman and Nikolay Gunchev policeman from the District Police Department in the town of Petritch and to the chief policeman Plamen Ivanov and Tcenko Tcenkov junior traffic controller from the police department in the town of Dolni Dubnik for their refusal to take bribes.
The prizes are awarded on the occasion of the Ministry of Interior’s Professional Day tomorrow on the initiative of the parliamentary Internal Security and Public Order Committee. Its Chairman Mincho Spassov addressed the policemen with the words: “You followed the biblical rule to take only what you are due”.
“Hundreds of employees of the Ministry of Interior will be awarded on our professional day but your contributions are of a special sort” said Mihail Mikov. The Minister noticed that society is in great need of such deeds as theirs and thanked all employees of the Ministry who put the interests of the state institutions above temptations.
The four policemen received also awards from the Foundation “Confidence and Protection”.
The insignia of the Ministry of Interior was also handed to the TV Channel “New television “ for its reports exposing police corruption.
