President Georgi Purvanov, National Assembly Chairman Georgi Pirinski and Prime Minister Sergey Stanishev Discuss Topical Political Issues of the Country

Bulgaria’s President Georgi Parvanov, National Assembly Chairman Georgi Pirinski and Prime Minister Sergey Stanishev held a two-hour meeting on Tuesday to confer about a wide range of topical issues.
They discussed the government’s measures on the latest EC report and their effectiveness.
Up for discussion were also social and economic issues with regard to the 2008 budget surplus and preparation of 2009 budget. The agenda included discussion of bills on political model reforms and election laws.
The three exchanged opinions about the EU emergency summit in Brussels on Monday.
The three leaders decided to take part in the celebrations on September 6th in Plovdiv and on September 22nd in Veliko Turnovo on the occasion of Unification Day and the 100th anniversary since the declaration of Bulgaria’s Independence.
