National Assembly Chairman Georgi Pirinski met on September 15, 2008 Prince Frederik, Heir of the Crown of Denmark who is on an official visit to Bulgaria.

During the talks both sides expressed their will to continue with the fast developing and comprehensive relations between the Republic of Bulgaria and the Kingdom of Denmark. They shared the opinion that the visit is a very important step in this process and proves the interest of Denmark to carry on the cooperation.

The Heir of the Denmark’s Crown noted that he and his wife were visiting Bulgaria for the first time and pointed to his desire to learn more about the country.

Georgi Pirinski expressed his satisfaction with the active development of the bilateral parliamentary relations and underscored their significance for the enhancement of the relations between the two countries.

During the talks, the cooperation in the fields of culture and education was highly praised. It was mentioned that the interest in studying Danish language in Bulgaria was up as well as the number of Bulgarian students in Denmark.

Special attention was given to the Danish Research and Information Centre “Hans Christian Andersen” within Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridsky”, the only one outside Denmark.
