Amendments to the Employment Promotion Act Provide for Retirees Employed by the Program “In Support of Motherhood”, to Receive Additional Income

The National Assembly adopted on second reading, changes in the Employment Protection Act. The amendments stipulate that retired individuals, employed under the government program for the protection of motherhood, will receive additional to their pension income. The bill also amends the Social Insurance Code and eliminates the compensations for taking care of small children as well as the complementary allowance towards the salary for mothers who return to work, before the expiration of the additional paid leave of absence, provided for care of a small child. People who can benefit from the program, could be those who are currently unemployed, those who have reached early retirement age and those who have already retired.

The bill provides for pensioners to participate in programs for employment and continuing education and to have access to information regarding such programs.
