140 Representatives of Youth Organizations and Students’ Parliaments Welcomed at the National Assembly

The delegates to the Tenth National Session of the “Bulgarian children and young people’s parliament” were guests today to the National Assembly. The 140 youngsters represent different youth and students’ organizations from different regions around the country. The forum they attend is carried under the motto “Self fulfillment of young Bulgarians within the country” and is held in Sofia, on 19 to 22 November 2008.
Georgi Pirinski welcomed the young guests in the plenary hall, where they observed a usual sitting of parliament. Mr. Pirinski addressed them saying that they were friends to the National Assembly, who follow its work closely and with genuine interest. He also said that the visit was giving them the opportunity to experience direct contact with the legislative institution.
Georgi Pirinski underscored the active and fruitful cooperation between the Assembly and the Association “Bulgarian children and young people’s parliament”. Since 2001 young people, are partners of the National Assembly in many projects connected to the issues of parliamentarism and democracy, he noticed
Young parliamentarians are scheduled to meet and confer with Bulgarian members of the European Parliament on topics regarding the “Self fulfillment of young people in the context of the Bulgarian membership in the EU” this coming Friday.
