National Assembly Chairman Georgi Pirinski sent condolences to the Speaker of the People’s House of Indian Parliament Somnath Chatterjee, with regards to the terrorist attacks in Mumbai that caused the death of hundreds of victims.
The letter states:
I am shaken by the news about the terrorist attacks in Mumbai that have led to the death and injuries of hundreds of innocent civilians. I would kindly ask you to convey mine and of all Bulgarian members of parliament sincerest condolences and sympathy to the victims’ families and relatives and to our colleagues in the Indian parliament.
This tragic event has shocked the whole world. Please allow me to express my personal solidarity with the grief of the people of India caused by this tragedy. I hope that with the concerted efforts of the institutions and the citizens of India, the many wounded will soon recover and the consequences outlived shortly.
Bulgaria categorically and decisively denounces all terrorist attacks as inadmissible encroachment on democracy and civilization. I believe that this latest occurrence will double the efforts of the international community to fight such acts without compromise.
