National Assembly Adopts Amendments in its Rules of Organization and Procedures Allowing NGO’s to Attend Parliament and Committees’ Proceedings and Submit Proposals and Opinions on Draft Legislation

The amendments adopted on March 6, 2009 in the parliamentary Rules of Organization and Procedures provide for an annual allocation from the budget of the NA to finance a special internship program, called “Parliamentary student’s program for legislative research”. The changes authorize NGO representatives to participate in the meetings of parliamentary committees and submit opinions and proposals on draft laws concerning their activities.
