Amendments to Health Care Act Ban Smoking at Public Places, Starting June 1, 2010
08/04/2009
8 April 2009
The National Assembly approved these amendments to the Health care Act at first reading on April 8, 2009. The changes in the law also envisage the reopening of ambulatories in schools, kindergartens and establishments where social services are provided.
The changes deal also with the regulations regarding national and republican health consultants. National consultants advise mostly on matters regarding health issues of national importance and on the setting up of national health strategies or policies, while the so called republican consultants give advice on practical problem clinical cases and patients in need of urgent expert medical care. The law foresees the activities and financing of the national and republican consultants to be further detailed with an ordinance issued by the Minister of Health.
