At its sitting held on 26 May 2009 the National Assembly adopted the report of the Interim Inquiry Committee investigating the restitution deals in the Students Town of the capital city. The document adopted requires the imposing of moratorium over all deals with open space land estates on the territory of the Students Town until clarification of their ownership status. Furthermore, the Interim Committee proposes that the Ministry of Education and Science and the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works launch alienation procedures of restituted estates where it is impossible to file real claims or where needed for public purposes. The Committee proposes to the Government to undertake legislative initiative for regularizing the status of all students’ towns in the country.
The parliament adopted at second reading the Public Libraries Act and the amendments to the Community Centres Act.
