On the 1st of June – the International Children’s Day, the Speaker of the National Assembly Georgi Pirinski visited Byala Slatina and Borovan.
He was guest of the children’s celebration held in front of the Culture Centre in Byala Slatina. The Speaker greeted the young performers, the participants and guests of the festivity on the occasion of the International Children’s Day. He wished them happy childhood and success in their studies.
An exhibition of children’s drawings was displayed in the central square of Byala Slatina. Under the motto “To Make the World Colorful” the young artists had the opportunity to show their creative abilities by drawing on a huge canvas. They received the educational book “Our Parliament”.
Later on the Speaker of the National Assembly and M.P. Georgi Bozhinov visited the Home for Children Deprived of Parental Care “Tsvetko Salkovski” in the village of Borovan, where 60 children aged between 3 and 18 years reside. “The conditions of living and studying provided for the youths at the Home are indeed impressive”, marked Georgi Pirinski. “This is however only a good beginning as we are all debtors to children and have to double our efforts in order to make them happier and have more prosperous municipalities”, underscored the Speaker of Parliament.
The children from the Home congratulated Georgi Pirinski by performing songs and reciting poems. They received gifts on the occasion of their holiday – a DVD-player, books and delicacies.
