National Assembly Speaker Georgi Pirinski congratulates the winner of the town of Letnitsa school students’ essay writing contest on “The Salvation of Bulgarian Jews during WW II”

The Speaker of the National Assembly Georgi Pirinski congratulated the winner of the town of Letnitsa school students’ essay writing contest on “The Salvation of Bulgarian Jews during WW II”.
The participants in the contest had to reason on Prof. Michael Bar-Zoar’s book “Out of Hitler’s Grip”, which was published in Bulgarian. The author and his family had lived in the municipality of Letnitsa during the period 1942-1943.
Winner of the contest is the 12th grade student Tsvetelin Hitov. The Speaker of the National Assembly Georgi Pirinski forwarded congratulatory messages to both the contest winning student and the principal of “Bacho Kiro” High School in Letnitsa, Mrs. Snezhana Ignatova, who hosted the literary event.
“I am confident that you have well given a meaning to this dramatic chapter of our history, which best reflects the moral virtues of our people. This contest is a solid proof that the lessons of history resound in the hearts of young people today”, reads the congratulatory message of the National Assembly Speaker to the winner.
The other prize winners received publications of the National Assembly dedicated to the 130th anniversary of the Constituent Assembly and the Tarnovo Constitution.
