The Council to the Speaker of the 41 National Assembly held its first meeting on 15 July 2009. In her statement for the Media, Mrs. Tsetska Tsatcheva - the new Speaker - characterized the results of the meeting as efficient and dominated by goodwill.

The leadership decided to hold the next plenary sitting of the National Assembly on Wednesday, 22 July 2009. At the sitting the members of parliament will accept the resignation of the outgoing Council of Ministers and adopt a Declaration on the priorities of their future activities. They will start working on the Rules of Organization and Procedures of the 41 National Assembly.

The Ad Hoc Committee on the draft Rules of Organization and Procedures of the National Assembly held its first meeting on 15 July 2009 as well. In the coming days, it will conclude the work on the draft Rules, so that the latter are ready for discussions on the floor next Wednesday, 22 July 2009.

Mrs. Tsetska Tsacheva said that during the next week the National Assembly will have an intensive work on the nomination of the new Cabinet. According to her, the future agenda of the Assembly will be drawn up to conform to the needs of society.
