The National Assembly has elected Boyko Borisov to be the next Prime Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria and has approved his proposal with regards to the structure and composition of the Council of Ministers

The National Assembly has elected on 27 July 2009 Boyko Borisov for the post of Prime Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria. Members of parliament approved the proposed by him composition and list of the new Cabinet.
The nomination of Boyko Boprisov as the future Prime Minister and the members of his Cabinet were supported by 162 members of the National Assembly from the parliamentary group of the political party GERB, the ATAKA party, the Blue Coalition and Order, Lawfulness and Justice. 77 members of the Coalition of Bulgaria and the Movement for Rights and Freedoms voted against. There was one abstention on the side of Coalition for Bulgaria.
The composition of the new Cabinet was supported by the same number of MPs – 162, 78 voted against.
The newly elected Members of the Council of Ministers took an oath before the National Assembly in the presence of Patriarch Maxim. The solemn ceremony took place in the presence of the Republic of Bulgaria’s President Georgi Purvanov and Vice-President Angel Marin, as well as representatives of the Judiciary, diplomats and media leaders.
