The parliamentary Committee on Legal Affairs adopted its Internal Rules of Organization and deliberated on the draft amendments to the Election of Grand National Assembly Act

The Legal Affairs Committee in the parliament adopted at its sitting on 13 August 2009 its internal Rules of Organization and Procedure.
The Committee members also discussed at first reading amendments to the Election of Grand National Assembly Act. The draft bill was submitted to the National Assembly by OLJ parliamentary group leader Yane Yanev and a group of deputies. Three of the committee members voted in favor of the suggested amendments, 5 voted against and 13 abstained.
The Legal Affairs Committee Chair, Iskra Fidosova said that the GERB PG intended to create a working group to research in detail the election legislation issues. She also pointed that the adoption of a new electoral code was a priority for her parliamentary group.
