Nationaly Assembly approves, at first reading, amendments to Roads Act
27/08/2009
August 27, 2009
The amendments to the Roads Act were passed in the plenary hall at first reading, on August 27, 2009. The amendments envisage to place the National Road Infrastructure Agency under the management of the Regional Development and Public Works Minister.
The movers of the bill –the members of parliament Luben Tatarski, Alexander Nenkov, Ivan Vulkov and Iskra Fidosova, point in the motives that the transfer of the Agency will solve the problem with the administration in charge of roads management, which up to now was subordinated to many different structures and will bring together the many competencies and responsibilities involved in this activity. They propose the name of the Agency to become instead of the present National Road Infrastructure Agency only Road Infrastructure Agency, i.e. to delete “national”, as well as to abolish the two-step way of management of the same.
At the sitting MPs appointed Kalin Hristov at the post of BNB Deputy Governor. The candidate was approved by 174 MPs, 2 voted against and 28 abstained.
