National Assembly President Tsetska Tsacheva met on September 3, 2009 with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan Elman Zeynalov.

Ambassador Zeynalov delivered to Mrs Tsetska Tsacheva a congratulatory letter from the President of the National Assembly of Azerbaijan Oktay Assadov on the occasion of her nomination for President of the Bulgarian Parliament. In the letter he expresses confidence that relations between the two countries will continue their successful development.

The President of the National Assembly said that the formation of a friendship group Bulgaria - Azerbaijan was forthcoming. She briefed the guest on the legislative priorities of the 41 National Assembly and confirmed the will of the legislative institution to contribute to the development of long-term partnership and friendship between the two countries. The two sides shared the opinion that the relations in all areas could be enhanced and pointed among the priorities the economic cooperation and energy field.
