National Assembly President to open Reception Offices for the public during her visits to different cities of the country

The President of the National Assembly Tsetska Tsacheva is planning to open Reception Offices for citizens during her visits throughout the country. She has chosen to start the initiative with meeting first her constituency in the town of Pleven. There she received on September 26, 2009, over 50 citizens who came to raise problems and express concerns .
Mrs. Tsetska Tsacheva shared her impressions of the meetings with representatives of the local media. She noted that along with the quite understandable and natural personal problems, people were also raising issues, crucial for the development of their city and region as a whole. Among them, she mentioned the people’s concern regarding the prospects for development and the establishment of Pleven as a university center, the infrastructure projects implementation and the attracting of fresh investment that would create new jobs, the water supply problems in some localities in the region, etc.. She said that local residents were concerned with the future of the NPP Belene project.
National Assembly President also met with members of the Municipal Council in Pleven. They exchanged opinions on a wide range of matters related to the problems of the Municipality, and it was agreed that they will be further subject to a thorough discussion at the forthcoming Day of Dialogue between the Legislature and Local Governments. In her address to the town’s city hall members , Tsetska Tsacheva expressed her deep conviction that collective bodies need to listen to different political ideas and positions. In her words, as in the National Assembly, whenever taking decisions, local municipal authorities, should be thinking about the big picture, in the attempt to get closer the different positions.
