Parliament adopts amendments to the Commercial Code to reduce the minimum registration capital required for a Limited Liability Company

The National Assembly adopted at its sitting, October 2, 2009 on second reading, amendments to the Commercial Code, which reduce the required minimum capital for registration of a company with limited liability. The purpose of this measure is to stimulate entrepreneurship in the country and to create jobs.

The amendments to the Commercial Code will revive the Bulgarian economy, said in a statement to the media the Chairman of the Committee on Economic Policy, Energy and Tourism, Martin Dimitrov. He stressed that the same measure was adopted by many European countries. According to him, this was going to help many young people to start businesses and will support entrepreneurship in Bulgaria. Martin Dimitrov added that the changes envisage also to abolish the fees, charged by banks, for company registration.

In the time for parliamentary control, the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Miroslav Naydenov answered a question from the MP Kalina Krumova, regarding the outstanding payments from the European Agricultural Guarantee Fund. The minister explained that the signing of a Memorandum with the commercial banks to ensure faster receipt of subsidies by farmers was forthcoming. He explained that the signing of the document was agreed last week at a meeting with the Association of commercial banks.

Alexander Tsvetkov, Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology answered questions from MPs Cetin Kazak, Kasim Dal, Tuncher Kardzhaliev and Erdoan Mustafov on the current state and intentions of the government regarding the town of Targovishte’s airport. Minister of Labor and Social Policy Totyu Mladenov responded to a question raised by MP Kiril Gumnerov on non-payment of due wages on the part of Evrogard TEX Ltd. Lukovit , in breach of the instructions given by the Labor Inspectorate.

Defense Minister Nikolay Mladenov has answered a question from the MP Nelly Kalneva - Miteva on the procedures of admitting children in kindergartens, built by the Ministry of Defense. Justice Minister Margarita Popova replied to questions set by MP Ognian Yanakiev, concerning the appointments moratorium imposed with the Law on the Judiciary and the Sofia District Court construction of new building .
