Delegation of the Committee on European Affairs and Oversight of the European Funds participated in a meeting of the Conference of Community and European Affairs Committees of Parliaments of the European Union (COSAC) in Stockholm, Sweden


Delegation of the Committee on European Affairs and Oversight of the European Funds of the National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria, lead by the Chairman of the Committee – Mr. Svetlen Tanchev, participated in the XLII COSAC meeting (4-6 October 2009), organized by the Swedish Presidency of the EU and hosted by the Swedish Riksdag. The COSAC meeting is among the most remarkable and significant events, organized during the Swedish Presidency. The conference was attended by prominent guests such as the Swedish Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt and the Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden.

Delegations of the national parliaments of the EU Member States, representatives of the European Parliament and the European Commission, as well as observers from the candidate countries (Turkey and Croatia) participated in the COSAC meeting.

During the COSAC meeting current issues such as the future of the Lisbon Treaty, the global economic and financial crisis, the climate change, the transparency in the work of the EU institutions and the Stockholm Programme in the area of freedom, security and justice serving the citizen were discussed.
