National Assembly President Tsetska Tsacheva has sent on October 28, 2009 congratulatory letter to Dr. Norbert Lammert, on the occasion of his re-election as President of the Bundestag of the Federal Republic of Germany.

"I am convinced that this election shows the recognition you deserve for your social and professional prestige accumulated during your long carrier of politician and president of the German Bundestag”, writes the President of the Bulgarian Parliament to her counterpart.

"I avail myself of this opportunity to express my sincere hope that we both shall continue the active development and strengthening of the traditionally good relations between the parliaments of Bulgaria and the Federal Republic of Germany, in the interest of our two friendly people and our common future in the European Union.
I am convinced that in your face, Bulgaria will continue to have a loyal friend. I would like to acknowledge the willingness of the lawmakers in the 41st National Assembly to expand the fruitful dialogue and cooperation between the Bulgarian Parliament and the Bundestag of the Federal Republic of Germany.
