President Tsetska Tsacheva received in the National Assembly on October 29, 2009 the Minister of Finance Simeon Diankov. In a formal ceremony Mr.Diankov handed to the President of the Bulgarian Parliament the draft State Budget Act of the Republic of Bulgaria for 2010.

Immediately after the ceremony, in the presence of the Budget and Finance Committee Chair Mandy Stoyanova and media representatives, the chairwoman of the National Assembly signed the distribution order assigning the country’s draft budget for 2010 to the leading parliamentary Committee on Budget and Finance, which is to prepare the report, as well as to other parliamentary committees for review and opinion.

Finance Minister Simeon Diankov noted that the measures, laid down in the draft budget, aim at the quick exit from the economic crisis and at catching up with the average developed economies in the European Union. He added that the fast adoption of the budget by the parliament will give a positive signal to the Bulgarian society, Europe and the world as prove that Bulgaria has a stable fiscal policy and provides security to its citizens and businesses.

Minister Diankov stressed that in the course of this and next year the new government is resolved to pursue such a fiscal policy as to maintain stability of the euro, the financial and banking system and the whole economy.
