The official visit of the Bulgarian parliamentary delegation, led by National Assembly Chair Tsetska Tsacheva in Croatia has ended with her meeting the Prime Minister of Croatia Jadranka Kosor.

The focus of the conversation was placed on the need for more active economic cooperation and intensification of the business contacts between the two countries. The two officials agreed that an enhanced partnership, especially in times of global financial and economic crisis, was extremely important for Bulgaria and Croatia.

"Bulgaria assesses highly the success of Croatia in its final stage of negotiations with the EU and especially the anti-crisis measures launched by the Croatian government", said Mrs Tsetska Tsacheva during the meeting. She stressed that there is a lot of untapped potential in the field of tourist exchanges and that Croatian tourists must rediscover the Bulgarian winter and ski resorts. We are still indebted to our citizens with the opening of the airline Sofia – Zagreb, added the President of the Bulgarian Parliament.

Bulgaria’s head of parliament extended an invitation on behalf of Prime Minister Boyko Borisov to his Croatian counterpart to pay an official visit to Bulgaria. Tsetska Tsacheva expressed confidence that such a visit would be useful and efficient.

The President of the National Assembly and the Prime Minister of Croatia Jadranka Kosor were positive that the rich heritage of the two countries was among the best guarantee for their future as respected members of the European community.

On its last day, the Bulgarian parliamentary delegation visited the Bulgarian Orthodox Church in Zagreb. The Speaker of parliament donated to the church an icon of St. George.
