The National Assembly voted February 4, 2010 a decision to suspend temporarily the conversion in the use of agricultural lands located in protected areas from type "A" and "B" along the Black Sea coast. These are lands owned by individuals or legal entities ( an exception being given to such owned by municipalities), acquired through exchanges with lands from the State Land Fund. The lawmakers ruled the suspension as temporary until the adoption of the relevant legislative changes no later than July 1, 2010.
The purpose is to introduce more rigorous requirements for the change in the designation of agricultural lands, as far as the current one contains no particular restrictions.
