BULGARIA HAS A GOOD CHANCE TO BECOME EU MEMBER ON 1 JANUARY 2007, EMERGED AT THE MEETING BETWEEN THE PRESIDENT OF THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY PROF. OGNIAN GERDJIKOV AND THE SWEDISH AMBASSADOR STEN ASK

70 000 Swedish tourists are expected to come to Bulgaria next year, the Ambassador of Sweden H.E. Mr. Sten Ask said at his meeting with National Assembly President Gerdjikov. Bulgaria is the foreign tourist destination number one for Sweden three consecutive years, he added.

Bulgaria has a good chance to become EU member on 1 January 2007 if this country continues its efforts for completion of negotiations with EU, the Ambassador Ask said.
