National Assembly Deputy Chairman Georgi Pirinski received an honorary award for his support of people with disabilities and their human rights

National Assembly Deputy Chairman Georgi Pirinski was honored with a special diploma by U.S. Congressman Patrick Kennedy for his support for the human rights of people with disabilities and for his active promotion of equal opportunities. The Diploma is conferred at the proposal of the Center for Psychological Studies, a Bulgarian NGO working in the field of integration of people with disabilities.

Dr. Diana Indzhova, President of the Center for Psychological Studies handed the award to Mr. Pirinski, who was also speaker of parliament in the previous 40th National Assembly. She thanked Mr. Pirinski for his contribution to ensuring an accessible environment for disabled people. “We appreciate any support and all our partners and hope the interaction to continue in the future” said Dr. Indzhova.

National Assembly Deputy Chair Georgi Pirinski thanked for the award, which, in his words, was a “tremendous appreciation” of his efforts. He noted that the representatives of people with disabilities are demonstrating an impressive energy and active citizenship, so necessary to our society today.
