National Assembly Chair Tsetska Tsacheva on a visit to the Czech Republic, to take part in the celebration of May 24

National Assembly Chairwoman Tsetska Tsacheva and the parliamentary delegation she is leading arrived on a visit to the Czech Republic. The visit is to take place between 21 - 23 May, 2010

Mrs Tsetska Tsacheva is scheduled to meet with the head of Czech Republic’s Senate, Prshemisal Sobotka, on May 21st. Tsetska Tsacheva will sign into the guest’s book of the Senate. The program envisages Mrs. Tsacheva welcoming particpants from Bulgaria and the Czech Republic in the conference titled: "The work of Saints Cyril and Methodius among the Slavic peoples”. The event is to be held in the Bulgarian Cultural Club in Prague. The Forum is dedicated to the 130th anniversary of the creation of the first Association of Bulgarians in the Czech Republic. Members of the delegation include the Deputy Chair of the National Assembly Christo Bisserov and MPs Krassimir Tsipov, Andrey Pantev and Lubomir Ivanov.

The Speaker of Bulgaria’s parliament is to attend the prom of the Class of 2010 of the Bulgarian secondary school in Prague. She is going to address the graduates and confer with the teaching staff.

On May 22nd President Tsetska Tsacheva and the delegation will participate in the Fourth Festival of the Bulgarians in Europe, which traditionally is held on the eve of May 24th in Mikulchitse, South Moravia, the place where the west wing of the Slavs literary life was situated and where the works of the two brothers are traditionally celebrated at the eve of May 24th. It is presumed that the older brother Methodius life had ended here. The Bulgarian delegation will attend the solemn liturgy led by Bishop Krishtof, head of the Orthodox Church of the Czech Lands and Slovakia and Metropolitan Kiril, head of the Varna-Preslav Bishopric. The National Assembly Speaker is to deliver the opening speech at the Festival of the Bulgarians of Central Europe and to lay flowers at the monument of St.St. Cyril and Methodius and the memorial plaque of St. Methodius.

On May 23rd President Tsetska Tsacheva and the Bulgarian parliamentary delegation will visit the Orthodox church of St. Gorazd in Olomouc and will meet, in the Bulgarian Cultural Club there, with members of the Bulgarian Diaspora in the Olomouc region. The delegation will be greeted by the Governor of Olomouc.
