The task of the new permanent commission will be to monitor the implementation of the Prevention and Disclosure of Conflict of Interest Act. The establishment of the commission was voted today, at first reading, with amendments to the above act. The Commission will consist of five members, elected for a term of five years. It will probe alleged conflict of interest on a warning or on its own initiative, or upon request from an official in public office, after he submits the necessary information and documents. The Commission will keep a log of the received signals. The bill authorizes the Commission to impose administrative penalties.
