National Assembly adopts amendments to the Code of Criminal Procedure introducing specialized courts

The amendments establishing the specialized criminal courts were submitted by Iskra Fidosova and a group of MPs from the GERB parliamentary group and were passed with 100 votes in favor, 53 against and 3 abstentions.
The proposal of the Coalition for Bulgaria MP Luben Kornezov to abandon expedited trials for serious crimes such as murders or for serious bodily harm met the approval of 149 deputies with 1 abstention.
The draft bill for amendments to the Code of Penal Procedure, tabled by Coalition of Bulgaria MP Mihail Mikov and a group of deputies was rejected.
The proposal of the Supreme Judicial Council his members to be entitled with unimpeded access to classified information was rejected as well.
