Konstantin Pentchev takes oath in parliament as Ombudsman of Bulgaria

Konstantin Pentchev, the newly elected Ombudsman of the Republic of Bulgaria, was officially sworn in today at the National Assembly. Last week the Supreme Judicial Council unanimously accepted his resignation as Chairman of the Supreme Administrative Court. Mr. Pentchev was elected with the votes of 137 MPs by a secret ballot on October 7, 2010. He was nominated for the post by the GERB Parliamentary group. He succeeds to this office the former ombudsman Ginyo Ganev, whose term expired in April.
