The 5th session of the 41st National Assembly has started. The first plenary sitting of the year began with the parliamentary groups’ declarations

The 5th session of the 41st National Assembly has started with declarations on part of the parliamentary groups. During the first week the lawmakers will consider amendments to the State Budget Structure Act. As second on the parliamentary weekly agenda comes the deliberations on establishing  a temporary committee, which to find out the details about the appointment and lay off  of the former State Agriculture  Fund CEO Kalina Ilieva.


On Friday MPs will debate a draft declaration related to the Bulgarian diplomats connected with the state security services before 1989. This proposal in the agenda was put forward  by the chair of the parliamentary European Affairs Committee  Monica Panayotova and by the chairman of the Foreign Policy and Defense Committee Dobroslav Dimitrov.


Deputies will continue with deliberations on second reading of the bill on the State Agency for Food Safety. The weekly work program envisions second reading of amendments to the Foreigners in the Republic of Bulgaria Act; first reading of a bill on Cash Payments Restrictions (submitted by the Council of Ministers) and the second reading of the Forests Act amending bill.


During the time allocated for parliamentary control a hearing of PM Boyko Borisov will ne held on the issue of Bulgaria’s accession to Schengen. The hearing is in response to the questions put forward by two deputies of the opposition Coalition for Bulgaria on the subject.
