National Assembly President Tsetska Tsacheva noted that the anniversary of the Bulgarian Opera evokes sense of national and European pride. She pointed out that the Bulgarian opera voices and brilliant opera performances were among the most valuable contributions to our European and to the World’s musical culture.
Tsetska Tsacheva pointed out that even before the formal return of Bulgaria in the family of Europe, the talents of the Sofia Opera had already integrated the Bulgarian musical art into the spiritual space of Europe. She added that if one has to describe briefly the importance of the Sofia Opera and Ballet it would be - European and worldwide fame.
The latest postage edition numbers 630 stamps, meaning that its value will be high and will increase over time, said the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications.
At the end of the ceremony, singers from the Sofia Opera performed arias from Lehar, Mascagni and Verdi.
