Writer and journalist Mikhail Krustev was bestowed the award of the Association of the Revival Towns for his trilogy titled: “The wine of hopes”.
In the course of forty years Mihail Krustev has collected historic facts and researched eyewitness testimonies, myths and legends, which provided the groundwork of his trilogy. In the latter he explores the themes of freedom and yoke, sins and absolution between Christians and Muslims, between Bulgarians and Turks and the tragic fate of the insurgents. Mihail Krustev not only continues the tradition of writing about the heroes of the April Uprising but presents the historic event from the standpoint of the contemporary world and human psychology.
