She underscored that in its long history, regardless of the vicissitudes of life, the Academy has always shown a high standard of selfless work for the benefit of Bulgaria, for its scientific development and international recognition and prestige. In her address, the speaker of parliament expressed her confidence that every Bulgarian citizen appreciates highly the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences scientists and researchers’ mission dedicated to the spiritual and material enrichment of the nation.
Tsetska Tsacheva pointed out that the Academy is called to tackle the challenges of the contemporary world with the support of the institutions and the civil society. In her view the successful development of Bulgaria is unthinkable without a modern and quality science. She mentioned that this could be achieved if only the young and talented Bulgarian scientists had the conditions and motivation to stay and work in the country. “I believe that after the reforms held at the Academy and the amendments passed to the BAS Law these goals became real and attainable”, she further stated.
The chair of the National Assembly reaffirmed her commitement to assist in the ongoing and useful dialogue between the BAS and the parliament.
